Pediatric Feeding Disorders

Step By Step Pediatric Therapy

Having an infant or toddler who is struggling with taking a bottle or eating solid foods is very stressful for families. At Step by Step, our OT’s and STs have extensive specialized training in feeding. We work with babies who are having difficulty with latching and all other aspects of bottle feeding. We have experience with cleft palate and with transitioning from the NG or g-tube to oral feedings, cup drinking, purees, and table foods.

We also work with children who have sensitivities to different foods, selective eaters, difficulty moving from purees to table foods, poor weight gain, food-related behaviors, anxiety, and decreased independence in self-feeding. We help coach families during meal times, offer strategies, and also have a nutritionist on the team who can offer support.

Lehigh Valley Health Network

It’s important for children to receive proper amounts of nutrition every day. Unfortunately, issues affecting your child’s ability to eat and drink may prevent this from happening.

At Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), we partner with your family to identify the source of your child’s feeding issue and develop a personalized care plan that helps your child grow and thrive.
